Refocus on the Home

Greetings from Terry Clarke – Vice President. I’m very excited for the launch of our new website. It is my greatest hopes that all of you will find it much more informational and easier to use than our previous. I encourage the use of all the great functions we have developed for your enlightenment and enjoyment.

One of the greatest new features is our new blog which you hopefully will find informational and fun. Learn more about design trends, news and events from around the Pearl as well as the interior design/furniture industry from our experienced and knowledgeable designers and staff. As this is my first attempt at “blogging” bear with me – I promise it shall improve with more practice.

So, we’re all hyper-aware about the state of our economy and the fact that Americans now have to make more conscientious decisions with our purchases and learning to exercise better restraint fiscally. My feeling on this, particularly where our homes are concerned, is basically that while financial market investments are in question, it should encourage us to invest in ourselves, personally.\

The purpose of this blog is an attempt to change focus from doom and gloom to looking upon these times as an opportunity. Better times are ahead – We just need to have the confidence in believing so. Perhaps with a change in mindset, this period won’t seem quite so horrible. Although, during these times, our homes increasingly become our safe-havens – The place where we can escape it all – by sitting in our favorite chair reading a great book, or simply sipping a glass of wine while merely looking out at our gardens. During such economic times, when we’re all trying to pinch pennies, I find entertaining close friends and family in our homes a great cost-saving option. With this increased time in our home, this should invite a new focus on the comfort and level of enjoyment we achieve there. I think it’s a great time to perhaps pick out our “favorite room” and think of reasons why we find it our most comfortable and enjoyable place to hang out in. For example, many find their bedrooms a favorite place in the house as that is where we re-energize our bodies, spend the most intimate time with our significant others among a few. One way to make it even better might be to visit PH Reed and find a new outstanding linen set that’s luxurious and sparks imagination and perhaps FUN. By surrounding ourselves with luxury, it makes us all feel better. Maybe it’s time for a new bed or other furnishing to spruce up this room – Now’s the perfect time to come down and visit us as we have just begun our “Sweetheart” Promotion – We’re pleased to extend up to 20% savings on ALL bedroom special orders through the month of February – That could include maybe just a new lamp – for those readers out there – Better lighting could provide more enjoyment just in reading.

So, I think it’s an excellent time to reconsider our homes and come up with ways to spruce up or enliven our interiors – Many home furnishings retailers are much more open to extending special pricing during these difficult times. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!
